Accessibility
At the Peterborough Academy of Circus Arts (PACA), we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment where everyone has the opportunity to explore, express themselves, and discover the joy of circus arts.
We focus on accessible education through public classes and community-based programming, including opportunities for marginalized, at-risk groups.
Our goal is to ensure that every participant feels supported, comfortable, and encouraged throughout their circus experience.
Inclusive Programming
We strive to offer classes and performances that are adaptable to a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
Whenever possible, we provide modifications, alternative apparatuses, and support for participants with physical, sensory, cognitive, or emotional needs.
Facility Access
We want everyone visiting PACA to feel welcome and informed about the accessibility of our spaces.
PACA Studio – 1625 Chemong Road
Our studio is located on the lower level at 1625 Chemong Road, Peterborough.
Please note that our studio is accessible by stairs only and is not wheelchair accessible. Participants and visitors must use stairs to enter and exit the studio.
While our current studio has physical accessibility limitations, we remain dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment and providing accommodations wherever possible.
Market Hall Performing Arts Centre –
140 Charlotte Street
We are pleased to offer classes and performances at Market Hall Performing Arts Centre, located at 140 Charlotte Street, 3rd Floor, Peterborough, ON K9J 2T8.
Market Hall provides elevator access, making the venue accessible to participants and visitors who require an alternative to stairs.
We encourage anyone with accessibility questions or specific accommodation needs to contact us before attending so we can discuss available options.
Support Persons & Aides
Participants who require a support person, aide, or American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter are welcome to bring them at no additional cost.
We ask that support persons follow all safety protocols and remain respectful of the learning environment.
Communication
We aim to use clear, inclusive language in our classes and communications.
Information about classes, policies, and events is available in accessible digital formats upon request.
We encourage open communication and welcome questions about accessibility, accommodations, or individual learning needs.
Feedback & Continuous Improvement
PACA welcomes feedback on accessibility and inclusivity.
If you encounter a barrier to participation, please let us know so we can work to address it promptly and respectfully.
We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process and are committed to continually improving our programs, communication, and learning environments to create meaningful opportunities for everyone.
